Both the art and the writing sùck bålls. FL's forehead can land something like four airplanes. Technically, the thing has no budget.
But here the characterization comes to the rescue! In... a way. Somewhat. Well, partly. Listen FL is a good character, okay? She reacts reliably, usually. She knows she has it tough, she isn't whiny and she isn't stupid. She does a good job demonstrating how severe trauma works. Somehow.
ML is unredeemedable. Literal magic cannot save him. Not even a miracle. He is a standard manga antagonist. He is badly written, truly hateable, incontrovertibly morally compromised. A ràpist, an human trafficker and most of all a profoundly slimy, weak and dumb person. It's like someone color inverted FL's characterization, and that makes her that much more impressive.
Side cast is actually nice, btw.
Now, if that was to be all, shït, this is a 3 stars minimum. Even 4, if Kiris was to be demoted to 2nd ML. So why does it actually graduate into Razzie tier shït? Thanks to the third season, when the manga sits you on a chair, takes a cràp on a pedestal 5 inches from your face, and then turns on an industrial fan in your direction. (Kiris is the cràp in this metaphor)
Like a car crash: horrific, but kinda entertaining? It's so jarring. If FL was written the same as the rest of it, it would be boring... But the contrast between her and... the plot's literal hellish dumbfuckery will spellbind you in awe.
Read it. Worse comes to worst, you wasting your time and getting mad is actually even funnier to me. And, like, isn't me having fun what really counts?
